Wanted! A professional liar! Willing to hear my story and speak my truth or what ever truth I want you to speak … Not so fast.
Truth is a grey area, but whether it is yours or that of your attorney’s is not. Your story and how you remember it is yours and yours alone to have and to communicate when necessary. Your attorney is enlisted and entrusted with holing what ever information you provide him, whatever piece of information full or partial you decide to share. But that information is yours and is sourced from you.
An Attorney is your buddy when no one is on your side. The librarian when you don’t now which book to get. The waiter when you are hungry. The buss driver when you are tired and lost. But at the end of the day you and you alone are in charge of all of those services. You told the bus where to go by choosing which path you would get on. You ordered the food and your ideas were crafted together to get you that story that could sweep you away.
An Attorney is your legal guide, friend, confidant and waiter of legal problems. They come at a cost however, because that education and experience is developed over time like a bread baking in the oven. An effective attorney will combine what they know before they met you to what they now see from you to create a solution or a potential solution at least.
An Attorney is tasked with and trained to see issues, problems, and chaos, but in a mediative way, a calming way. This logical analysis is lost in a regular person going through an issue because their emotions win out every time. But not for the legally trained professional. The lawyer filters out the emotion a world with what’s left … the logic and the numbers.
What is the job of an Attorney? … To keep calm and find a solution.
